In the heart of the land of ancient carding workers, the Mother Church, built on the site of a previous temple, shows the typical architecture of late baroque, with elements of neoclassical language - the culmination of a lengthy construction process, funded by the people of Sambade. Inside, the rococo carving of the altars and the main altarpiece stand out.

Marta Pereira da Costa is the first woman to play professionally Portuguese Guitar in Fado, worldwide. In 2014 she was distinguished, by the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, with the “Instrumentalist Award”. Historically, the Portuguese Guitar has always been associated with the man as a musician, and mainly limited to Fado as a language. Marta Pereira da Costa comes to break with that tradition and present a new Portuguese Guitar as the “voice” of her project.
